These beautiful and intricately decorated tables are known as rain drums due to the elaborate fertility images depicted in the design and for the unique sound they make when struck by the heavy monsoon rains of Southeast Asia. The drum shapes replicate huge bronze artifacts manufactured over thousands of years by the Dong-son civilization in Southeast Asia. A radiating raised sun pattern in the center of the drum head is surrounded by concentric rings of geometric patterns moving toward the edge of the drum. Four double-frog embellishments are suitable for supporting a glass top, allowing the drum to be used as a eye-catching side-table. The sides of the drum are decorated with leaf images and three small elephants climb up the side. These drums are made of cast bronze with a aged bronze finish and are handmade in Thailand by traditional methods. Beware of imitations made of aluminium that just cannot be compared to our magnificent range.
Our entire collection of rain drums are all carefully hand selected – each is unique in its design, finish and dimensions. Due to the natural origin of the material, please expect that slight differences in the patina and color of the bronze can occur.
Due to the size and weight of these drums, they are carefully crated and packaged individually to ensure that they arrive undamaged.
